                                                               AGENDA REPORT

DATE:                                          February 12, 2024

TO:                                          City Commission

FROM:                                          Bill McDaniel, City Manager

SUBJECT:                     Resolution setting a legislative public hearing for map amendment PC/CPA 23-02 located on Charlie Taylor Road and US Highway 92E.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The applicant is requesting a future land use designation of Plant City Industrial for a 7.3 ± acre site located north of US Highway 92 E and east of Charlie Taylor Road. The site is within the boundary of the Northeast Plant City Master Plan and consists of three properties currently designated Hillsborough County Residential-4, reflecting the low-density residential character of this part of unincorporated Hillsborough County. The request is to change its future land use designation from Hillsborough County Residential-4 to Plant City Industrial (I) and I-4 Tech Corridor Overlay to bring the site into conformance with the Plant City Comprehensive Plan.

The Hillsborough County City-County Planning Commission (9-0) and Plant City Planning Board (7-0) found this map amendment consistent with the Plant City Comprehensive Plan on December 11, 2023, and January 24, 2024, respectively.

RECOMMENDATION

That the City Commission adopt a resolution setting a legislative public hearing on February 26, 2024.

FISCAL IMPACT
