SUBJECT:                     Resolution setting two legislative public hearings for a text amendment to the R-2 zoning district. (PB-2024-09)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The purpose of the proposed text amendment is to remove the requirement for special approvals for R-2 uses of day nursery, churches, publicly owned or operated buildings, schools, construction offices, and townhouses, to remove boardinghouses and lodginghouses from the R-2 and to move the regulations for Townhouses to the Supplemental Regulations Division 16 of Article VII of the Plant City Code of Ordinances.

The text below summarizes the major revisions:

Sections 102-353 through 102-359

1.                     Removal of the requirement for special approval combining this section with 102-352.

2.                     Complete removal of townhouse requirements with reference to allow townhouses subject to Division 16 of Article VII.

3.                     Various numbering cleanups due to language removal.

On February 28, 2024, the Planning Board (6-0) recommended to forward the text amendment to the City Commission with a recommendation of approval.
