SUBJECT:                     Engineering Work Order No. 2 for Potable Reuse Project

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

The City of Plant City received legislative appropriations (LPA0038) for the McIntosh Preserve Suite of Integrated Projects. The total current award to the City upon the 3rd Amendment of the agreement is $11.35M. This third amendment will secure the FY 2023-24 award amount and extend the expiration date to March 31, 2026.

The McIntosh Preserve Suite of Integrated Projects includes the McIntosh Preserve Wetland Expansion and the Potable Reuse project. The McIntosh Preserve Wetlands Expansion project is being prepared for the bid phase for construction. The Potable Reuse project pilot phase has been completed and the next phase is the initial design phase. This phase includes the initial design of the selected system to a point that allows an accurate cost to be developed. The design consultant (Hazen) was selected through RFQ 1620-033UO-LS to conduct the pilot phase and move into design. The fee for this design phase is $1,194,015.00 which will be paid for with legislative appropriation funds.

RECOMMENDATION:

That the City Commission authorize the City Manager to execute EWO No. 2 with Hazen and Sawyer Inc. in the amount of $1,194,015.00 for the initial design phase of the Potable Reuse project.

FISCAL IMPACT:

A budget adjustment is included in the agenda to increase the grant funds allocated to CIP # UO034 - Indirect Potable Reuse (IPR).
