SUBJECT: Work Order with Killebrew to Repair the Reclaimed Water Main
on South Frontage Road
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
During the spring of 2022, Tampa Electric Company damaged the City’s 18” reclaimed water main while installing a transmission pole. The City Commission approved a work order with Austin Construction through the JOC program in the fall of 2022. Although Austin Construction obtained an FDOT permit to repair the main, the company did not mobilize. Subsequently, the City discontinued the continuing affiliation with Austin Construction and canceled the work order for this repair.
The City can complete this project utilizing its continuing contract for utilities construction services with Killebrew, Inc., for $289,994.14.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Commission authorize the City Manager to execute a construction work order with Killebrew, Inc. for $289,994.14 to repair the main on South Frontage Road.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds are available in Utilities Project UM012 - Collection System Asset Management.
