AGENDA REPORT
DATE: July 8, 2024
TO: City Commission
FROM: Bill McDaniel, City Manager
SUBJECT: New Solid Waste and Utilities Facility Low Voltage
Installation
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The City Commission on September 25, 2023, approved a construction contract with Manhattan Construction for the new Solid Waste and Utilities facility. The project is estimated to be completed by February 10, 2025.
Solid Waste and Utilities Departments are currently working on the owner purchase items including low voltage installation. The preferred procurement method is to piggyback the Indian River County agreement with Precision Contracting Services, Inc. ITB 2023056 annual bid for fiber optic engineering, design, material, supplies and installation. The piggyback procurement tool is beneficial to acquire the same commodities or service from another public entity contract to reduce the time and resources required to complete purchasing for the project.
The scope of work includes all material, installation, and testing of low voltage required in the new solid waste and utilities facility. Precision Contracting Services, Inc. has experience working with the city on multiple projects previously.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Commission authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement for piggyback purchase with Precision Contracting Services, Inc. that incorporates the Indian River County agreement for ITB 2023056 Annual Bid for Fiber Optic Engineering, Design, Material, Supplies and Installation for low voltage installation in Solid Waste and Utilities new facility for $167,386.20.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds are available in the Water/Sewer Fund, CIP # UM021 - Utilities Maintenance/Solid Waste Facility.
