EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The City offers residents and visitors numerous passive and active recreation opportunities throughout the City. There is a need for a modernized skate park and a water park with splash pads and fountains which have become very popular. The Federal government allocated funding through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), some of which has been allocated toward this recreation project. In July 2023, the City completed Phase 1 “Conceptual Master Plan” for the Splash Park and Site Improvements project. In March 2024, Madrid Engineering Group performed and completed Task 102 "Geotechnical site investigation". In April 2024, WSP surveying crew performed and completed Task 101 "Site topographical survey, subsurface underground engineering (SUE)".
To proceed with Phase 2 “Design and Permitting", WSP submitted Proposal No. 2024US260736(R2) for professional engineering services for design, permitting, and preparation of construction plans for the Splash Park and Site Improvements project.
