SUBJECT: Adoption of the Comprehensive Plan Amendment Procedures Manual for the City of Plant City.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On August 28, 2024, the Plant City Planning Board recommended (4-0) to amend the Plan Amendment Procedures Manual.
The Planning Commission has an established consolidated “Procedures Manual” (“Manual”) that identifies procedures to be followed when processing text and map amendments to the Comprehensive Plan for the Cities of Plant City, Tampa, and Temple Terrace. Currently, the Manual consists of one document for all these jurisdictions. It was determined that the Manual should be separated to address the uniqueness of each jurisdiction. The Plant City Procedures Manual is being updated and completely reformatted amending existing language to provide greater clarity on the plan amendment process and requirements and to improve the efficiency of the Plan Amendment review process.
The Hillsborough County City-County Planning Commission (7-0) found this amendment consistent with the Imagine 2040: Plant City Comprehensive Plan on July 8, 2024.
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt a resolution approving the updated Comprehensive Plan Amendment Procedures Manual for the City of Plant City.
