SUBJECT: Supply and Delivery of Asphalt
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
On May 25, 2022, the City entered into an agreement with Duval Asphalt Products, Inc. (Duval) to supply and deliver high performance bulk cold mix asphalt to the City, on an as-needed basis, for $168 per ton. The term of the agreement was one year, and the City Manager was authorized to approve up to four additional single year contract extensions. The average annual usage is approximately 155 tons.
The contract is currently in its second renewal term and Duval has requested a price increase of 22%, to $205 per ton. Staff has evaluated the request and determined it to be in line with current asphalt rates.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Commission adopt a resolution authorizing a price increase for as-needed supply and delivery of high-performance bulk cold mix asphalt, from Duval Asphalt Products, Inc., for $205 per ton.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds are available in the operating budgets of the departments that use this service.
