SUBJECT: N. Thomas Street Brick Road Restoration
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The N. Thomas Street Brick Road Restoration project consists of removing existing brick pavement, leveling and compacting the bedding layer, and re-laying the existing bricks along N. Thomas Street between W. Herring Street and McLendon Street.
In addition, new brick pavers will be installed at the intersection of McLendon Street & N. Thomas St and new ADA ramps and detectable warnings will be constructed on the east side of N. Thomas Street to connect sidewalk access along W. Herring Street.
This work can be completed by JNandlal Maintenance Services of Brandon, LLC, via piggyback of City of Lakeland bid No. 2023-ITB-078, Annual Brick Street and Streetscape Repair and Replacement Services, for $129,437.88.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the CRA Board authorize the Executive Director to execute an agreement with JNandlal Maintenance Services of Brandon, LLC, via piggyback of City of Lakeland bid No. 2023-ITB-078, Annual Brick Street and Streetscape Repair and Replacement Services, for the N. Thomas Street Brick Road Restoration project, for $129,437.88.
FISCAL IMPACT:
CRA funds are available in ST029 - Brick Road Restoration. N. Thomas Street is within the CRA district limits, and a budget adjustment is included in the CRA agenda to increase the budget by $123,000 for the W. Gilchrist Street and N. Thomas Street brick road restoration projects.
