SUBJECT:                     Transmittal public hearing for map amendment PC/CPA 23-05 located at the Northeast corner of North Alexander/Paul Buchman Hwy and Knights Griffin Road.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The applicant is requesting a future land use designation of Plant City Industrial for a 410.23± acre site located at the Northeast corner of North Alexander/Paul Buchman Hwy and Knights Griffin Road. The site is within the boundary of the Northeast Plant City Master Plan and consists of properties designated Hillsborough County Residential-1, reflecting the rural residential character of this part of unincorporated Hillsborough County, Plant City Residential-4, Natural Preservation and Commercial.

On December 11, 2023 the Hillsborough County City-County Planning Commission recommended (9-0) finding this map amendment inconsistent with the Plant City Comprehensive Plan and on December 11, 2024, the Plant City Planning Board (5-1, with one abstention) recommended finding the map amendment consistent with the Plant City Comprehensive Plan.  Attached for your consideration is a staff report from the Planning Commission analyzing and finding map amendment PC/CPA 23-05 inconsistent with the Imagine 2040: Plant City Comprehensive Plan.
