SUBJECT: Resolution setting a public hearing on an ordinance to voluntarily annex two parcels totaling 14.6± acres located at the northwest corner of Swindell and County Line Roads (ANX-2024-08).
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The property owner of two parcels adjacent to the municipal corporate limits has petitioned for these properties to be voluntarily annexed into the City Limits of Plant City. The parcels, totaling 14.6± acres, are located at the northwest corner of Swindell Road and County Line Road. The application states the reason for annexation is “the development of the subject property” in Plant City.
Based on the requirements of Chapter 171, Florida Statutes and associated case law, staff recommends approval of ANX-2024-08. On March 26, 2025, the Planning Board voted (7-0) to forward the request to the City Commission with a recommendation of Approval.
RECOMMENDATION
The City Commission adopt a resolution to set a public hearing for Monday, June 9, 2025, on voluntarily annexation ANX-2024-08.
