SUBJECT: W. Grant Street & W. Prosser Drive Signalization Improvements
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
S. Collins Street is a major thoroughfare and evacuation route. Heavy left turn traffic at local intersections such as W. Grant Street and W. Prosser Drive/E. Roseland Avenue causes congestion and unsafe conditions. Both intersections are currently unsignalized and improvements are necessary to address safety concerns and congestion. In addition to signalization improvements, closure of the midblock crossing between two intersections is anticipated to further address these conditions.
Utilizing the City’s continuing contracts for engineering services, staff developed Engineering Work Order (EWO) 21-020-02I-01 with Rummel, Klepper & Kahl, LLP (RK&K) for design, permitting, and specifications.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Commission authorize the City Manager to execute Engineering Work Order 21-020-02I-01 with Rummel, Klepper & Kahl, LLP, in the amount of $277,894.00.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds are available in CIP # ST032 - South Collins Street Intersection.
