                                                               AGENDA REPORT

DATE:                                          June 23, 2025

TO:                                          City Commission

FROM:                                          Bill McDaniel, City Manager

SUBJECT:                     FY 2024-25 Street Resurfacing Program

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This proposed FY 2024-25 Street Resurfacing Program involves approximately 9 miles of local streets, with an estimated total cost of $5,250,000. Anticipated remediation and improvement work includes:

o                     milling and resurfacing existing pavement,

o                     retrofit of ADA ramps to current standards,

o                     minor drainage improvements,

o                     replacement of road base and curb as necessary,

o                     widening to minimum lane width where prudent,

o                     improving intersection radii, where prudent, and

o                     survey, geotechnical investigations, and design necessary for construction documents and right-of way maps.

Staff plan to integrate the design and construction phases on this project with the road projects funded by recently approved FDOT grant agreements. Coordination of these documents will reduce impact to the traveling public and should improve economy of scale.

RECOMMENDATION

That the City Commission adopt a resolution approving the City’s FY 2024-25 Street Resurfacing Program.

FISCAL IMPACT

$5,783,662 is available in CIP # ST026 - Street Resurfacing - 1 mil.

Since preconstruction costs are estimated to be $1,000,000, construction costs could exceed the FY 2025 balance; which would require use of the 2026 revenues.
