AGENDA REPORT
DATE: June 23, 2025
TO: City Commission
FROM: Bill McDaniel, City Manager
SUBJECT: Agreement to Provide Storm Sewer Rehabilitation
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
Replacement and rehabilitation of damaged storm sewer pipes is a continuing priority of the Streets and Stormwater Department. These practices aid in the preservation of our storm sewer pipes to reduce instances of flooding. Due to the complexity of some of the procedures, portions of the rehabilitation processes must be contracted out. Through a piggyback with the City of Oviedo, Florida and Flotech Environmental, LLC (Flotech), dated October 14, 2024, the City can acquire the needed services. Flotech has agreed to provide service to the City, and if approved, this contract will be used on an as-needed basis.
The term of agreement expires on October 13, 2027, unless mutual agreement renews for two (2) additional one (1) year periods, provided that the City of Oviedo Agreement is still in effect for the term of the extension. The annual cost of this service is up to $50,000.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Commission authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement with Flotech Environmental, LLC, via piggyback of City of Oviedo contract, for as-needed storm sewer rehabilitation services.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds are available in the Stormwater Fund, CIP # SW014 - Stormwater Drainage Improvements.
