SUBJECT:                     Engineering Work Order with Rummel, Klepper, & Kahl, LLP for professional services related to Street Resurfacing projects (Group 3)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

On March 24, 2025, the City Commission approved grant agreement #G3A96 / FPN454832-1-54-02 to resurface 15.25 miles of streets throughout the City. The grant agreement requires adherence with certain FDOT standards and procedures. To ensure compliance with these requirements, staff evaluated qualified engineering consultants to complete the design and other related work.

Utilizing the City’s continuing contracts for engineering services, staff developed Engineering Work Order 21-020-02I-02 with Rummel, Klepper, & Kahl, LLP (RK&K) to develop plans and specifications for approximately 9.7 miles of street resurfacing projects (Group 3). The “Group 3” project list involves 7.1 miles of roads included in the grant and 2.6 miles of roads included in the City’s 2025 Street Resurfacing Project list approved by the City Commission on June 23, 2025. Work to be completed on these streets will include resurfacing and minor safety and drainage improvements. The estimated construction cost for Group 3 projects is $4,250,000.

RECOMMENDATION:
