SUBJECT: Resolution setting public hearing on ordinance amending Chapter 94, Plant City Code to effectuate recent changes by the legislature related to platting of subdivisions.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
During the 2025 legislative session, the legislature adopted Senate Bill No. 784, which was approved by Governor DeSantis on June 20, 2025, and was enacted as Chapter 2025-164, Laws of Florida. Chapter 2025-164 became effective on July 1, 2025. The Act requires all plats to be approved, approved with conditions, or denied administratively, and not as previously done by the City Commission following a public hearing.
The proposed ordinance effectuates the legislative changes, and names the City Manager as the Administrative Authority.
RECOMMENDATION:
The City Commission adopt a resolution setting a public hearing for Monday, August 11, 2025, on an ordinance amending Chapter 94, Plant City Code, relating to platting of subdivisions.
