SUBJECT: Demolition of the Planteen Recreation Center and Winter Visitor Center
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
On July 28, 2025, the City Commission authorized the City Manager to proceed with the conceptual design of a new community center and demolition of the existing Planteen Recreation Center and the Winter Visitor Center in preparation for construction of a new facility.
Utilizing the City’s continuing contracts for construction management services 21-024PU-RR, staff developed Work Order 21-024PU-RR-09 with Charles Perry Partners, Inc., for services. Charles Perry Partners, Inc. submitted a project proposal on September 19, 2025.
This proposal meets the scope of work and has been approved by staff.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Commission authorize the City Manager to execute a Work Order 21-024PU-RR-09 with Charles Perry Partners, Inc. for the demolition of the Planteen Recreation Center and Winter Visitor Center via the City's Continuing Contract for Construction Manager-at-Risk Services, Contract No. 21-024PU-RR for the amount of $110,154.00
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds are available in CIP # RC013- Planteen Community Center
