SUBJECT: Construction Work Order with Killebrew for Sewer Manhole
Rehabilitation
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The Utilities Department identified a manhole in critical condition located within the utility easement at 1650 Alumax Circle, Plant City, FL 33566. The existing structural deterioration is allowing debris and stormwater runoff to enter the City's sanitary sewer collection system, posing a risk to system integrity and operational efficiency.
The City’s As-Needed Utilities Construction Services contract with Killebrew, Inc., under Project No. 25-033UM-TG-PB, was approved at the Commission Meeting held on March 10, 2025. Pursuant to this continuing services agreement, Killebrew, Inc. has prepared a construction work order to address the issue by rehabilitating the affected sewer manhole.
The scope of work includes rehabilitating the existing manhole structure, installing a new ring and cover, and grading the surrounding area to prevent inflow. The estimated construction cost for this work is $85,566.00.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Commission authorize the City Manager to execute a Construction Work Order with Killebrew, Inc., in the amount of $85,566.00, for the sewer manhole rehabilitation in the utility easement at 1650 Alumax Circle.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds are available in the Water/Sewer Fund, CIP # UM012-IMPLEMENT-REPAIR-MANHOLES.
