SUBJECT: Replacement Pumps for the Water Reclamation
Facility Influent/Master Pump Station

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

The City of Plant City currently operates and maintains the Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) located at 1500 W. Victoria Street. The facility, identified as FL0026557, is permitted to treat 10 million gallons per day (MGD) of wastewater.

The WRF's Influent Pump Station (IPS), also known as the Master Lift Station, serves as the primary pumping station responsible for conveying wastewater from the collection system to the treatment plant. The IPS is equipped with five pumps designed to handle peak flow conditions and prevent sanitary sewer overflows or system backups.

The City maintains a continuing services contract 22-023UO-TG with Coastal Pump & Equipment, Inc. Under this contract, if the repair cost of a pump exceeds 50% of the replacement cost, or if repair is not feasible, the City may purchase a new pump.

Based on the age, repair history, and condition of the equipment, staff recommends replacing Pumps #1 and #3. The cost to repair these units exceeds 50% of the price of new pumps. Pump #2 will receive a new impeller to restore full functionality. The total cost for the purchase and installation of two new pumps - in...
