AGENDA REPORT
DATE: November 10, 2025
TO: City Commission
FROM: Bill McDaniel, City Manager
SUBJECT: Modification #2 - S. Collins St/James L. Redman Pkwy Resurfacing (Alexander St to Alsobrook St)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
Utilizing the City’s continuing contracts for engineering services, staff developed Engineering Work Order (EWO) 21-020-02E-01 with Florida Transportation Engineering, Inc. (FTE) for design, permitting, specifications, bidding assistance, and post-design services and approved by the City Commission on February 10, 2025. Modification #1 was approved under the City Manager’s authority for the development of a Maintained Right-of-Way Map along the project corridor.
Upon internal review of the 60% design plans, additional improvements along James L. Redman Pkwy were identified and staff prefer to implement those improvements in conjunction with the resurfacing, restoration and rehabilitation (RRR) efforts. The additional design services entail widening James L. Redman Pkwy for the addition of two U-turn lanes, driveway modifications, and intersection improvements at Maki Rd (relocation of existing traffic signal cabinet, pedestrian signal upgrades, and new pedestrian crossings).
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Commission authorize the City Manager to execute Modification #2 to Engineering Work Order 21-020-02E-01 with Florida Transportation Engineering, Inc., in the amount of $88,518.60.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds are available in CIP # ST026 - Street Resurfacing (1 Mil).
