SUBJECT: 2024 Street Resurfacing project - Change Order #1
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
On December 9, 2024, the City Commission authorized approval of a contract with C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc. for construction of the 2024 Street Resurfacing project. Construction commenced in April 2024 and is proceeding on track for completion by the original substantial completion date of March 12, 2026. The project is currently over 65% complete.
Change Order #1 is proposed to address cost changes due to additional milling and resurfacing adjacent street segments where the Utilities Department has recently completed utility replacements, including:
a) Gibbs Street from Ball St. to Washington St.,
b) Tyler St. from Ball St. to Washington St., and
c) Washington St. from Waller St. to Gibbs St.
This work is being accomplished through Change Order to expedite the resurfacing.
The original contract amount is $7,639,010.32. CO#1 increases the contract amount by $81,574.25, resulting a total contract amount of $7,720,584.57. No increase in the contract time is required.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Commission authorize the City Manager to execute Change Order #1 with C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc. in the amount of $81,574.25, for the 2024 Street Resurfacing project.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds are available in CIP # ST026 - Street Resurfacing 1 mil for this change order.
