SUBJECT: Public Safety Training Facility
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
CIP FD007 is for construction of a Public Safety Training Facility located on the Plant City Police Department’s property located at 1 Police Center Drive, Plant City, Florida. The project includes a Police/Fire Training Tower, truck storage facility, burn building, and training classroom. These facilities will allow for practical skills assessment and performing specialized training to meet certain training requirements in the future.
The City entered into an agreement in October 2025 with New Vista Builders Group, LLC for As-Needed Construction Services (25-070EN-RB-PB) under the current contract from Hillsborough County Invitation to Bid No. 22464,1:239893. This work order will allow New Vista Builders Group, LLC to provide as-needed services to complete pre-construction services necessary for the four buildings listed above.
The scope of services for this work order includes pre-construction services such as development of Architectural and Civil Engineering contract documents, contract administration, survey, schematic drawings, permitting, and civil engineering. The quote for the work in accordance with the current agreement is $249,085.60.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Commission authorize the City Manager to execute Work Order No. 1 with New Vista Builders Group, LLC, pursuant to As-Needed Construction Services Agreement No. 25-070EN-RB-PB in the amount of $249,085.60 for the pre-construction services for the Public Safety Training Facility.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds are available in the Capital Improvement Fund, CIP # FD007 - Public Safety Training Facility.
