SUBJECT: Resolution setting two public hearings on an ordinance annexing certain property and providing for referendum ANX-2025-03
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
ANX-2025-03 contains 29 parcels contiguous to the Plant City corporate limits.
This is a proposed annexation by referendum. The attached Urban Services Report sets forth a plan by which urban services will be provided to the Knights Griffin and North Alexander St Area and their residents if annexed into the City of Plant City by a referendum of voters residing within the area. The information contained in this document has been prepared pursuant to requirements for annexation by referendum contained in § 171.042, F.S.
It has been concluded that the parcels are contiguous to the City of Plant City and reasonably compact, thereby not conflicting with any of the requirements of Chapter 171, Florida Statutes, for annexing properties.
This item is scheduled to be heard by the Planning Board on December 10, 2025.
RECOMMENDATION
Adopt a resolution setting two public hearings on the proposed annexation by referendum for January 12, 2026 and January 26, 2026.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The annexations, if approved, will provide tax revenue from the development of the parcels.
