FROM: Bill McDaniel, City Manager
SUBJECT: Timberlane Drive Miscellaneous Improvements
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
Roadway infrastructure along Timberlane Drive is over 20 years old and shows significant signs of deterioration. The roadway was resurfaced in 2018; however other work is necessary. This project spans from S. Alexander St to W. Trapnell Rd and includes various roadway, trail, and sidewalk improvements along the 3-mile-long public road. This includes replacement of existing brick pavers with stamped concrete pavement, resurfacing the stamped concrete pavement over the golf cart bridge, replacement of the guardrails on both sides of the road, adding a new pedestrian/bicycle guiderail along the trail near the drainage culvert headwall, adding detectable warning surfaces at all necessary crosswalk locations, additional push-button pedestrian crossings, and curb ramp updates along sidewalk & trail path.
Utilizing the City’s continuing contracts for engineering services, staff developed Engineering Work Order (EWO) 21-020-02H-16 with Patel, Greene & Associates, LLC (PGA) for design efforts.
