SUBJECT: Sadye Gibbs Martin Community Center Playground & Splash Pad Design & Permitting
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The Sadye Gibbs Martin Community Center finished construction and was placed into operation in August 2020. The 30,000 square foot multi-purpose building consists of two (2) full-size basketball court gymnasium, meeting rooms, a craft room, an activity room with a computer lab, and a kitchen facility. During the design of the Sadye Gibbs Martin Community Center, a vacant space was allocated for the addition of a playground. Later, this vacant space was also found suitable for the City’s second splash park/splash pad. Before constructing this playground & splash pad, a site design of those proposed improvements is needed, including the required restroom facility.
Utilizing the City’s continuing contracts for engineering services, staff developed Engineering Work Order (EWO) 21-020-01B-03 with Ardurra Group, Inc. for design & permitting efforts.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Commission authorize the City Manager to execute Engineering Work Order 21-020-01B-03 with Ardurra Group, Inc., in the amount of $79,522.00.

Funds are available in CIP #PK028 - SGMCC Playground & Splash Park
