SUBJECT: Change Order with Killebrew for Construction Work Order #3
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
Under the City’s As Needed Utilities Construction Services contract with Killebrew, Inc., Project # 25-033UM-TG-PB, a construction work order was approved at the October 27, 2025 City Commission meeting to address the deteriorated sanitary sewer manhole at 1650 Alumax Circle, Plant City, FL 33566.
The scope of work includes rehabilitating the existing manhole structure, installing a new ring and cover, and grading the surrounding area to prevent future inflow. During preparation for construction, the project team identified a high flow volume through this sewer main. To avoid impacts to upstream customers, an additional bypass operation is required to safely complete the rehabilitation. Additional cleaning and site restoration of the sewer mains connected to the manhole will also be performed to ensure proper system functionality. The change order amount of $96,500.00 is required to complete the project.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Commission authorize the City Manager to execute a Change Order with Killebrew, Inc., in the amount of $96,500.00, for Construction Work Order No. 3 for sewer manhole rehabilitation within the utility easement at 1650 Alumax Circle, Plant City, FL 33566.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds are available in the Water/Sewer Fund - CIP # UM012 - IMPLEMENT - REPAIR MANHOLES.
