SUBJECT: Resolution rescheduling the second regular City Commission meeting for the month of May 2026.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The proposed resolution reschedules the second regular City Commission meeting in May 2026.
Due to the observance of Memorial Day on Monday, May 25, 2026, the second regular meeting would normally be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. However, a run-off election for City Commission Groups 3 and 4 is scheduled to take place on that same date in the City Commission Chambers, rendering the meeting location unavailable.
In accordance with Section 2-34, Plant City Code, the City Commission may reschedule regular meetings by resolution. The proposed resolution provides for the meeting to be rescheduled to Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the City Commission Chambers at the Nettie Berry Draughon Municipal Building.
RECOMMENDATION:
The City Commission adopt a resolution rescheduling the second regular meeting in May to May 27, 2026.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None.
