DATE:                                          May 27, 2026

TO:                                          City Commission

FROM:                                          Bill McDaniel, City Manager

SUBJECT:                     Gilchrist Park Replacement Restroom

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

In Fiscal Year 2026, the City Commission approved a Capital Improvement Plan for restroom replacement Citywide.

The restroom facility at Gilchrist Park was built in 1977 and no longer meets modern accessibility standards. Frequent repairs are costly, making replacement the more cost-effective long-term solution. This new restroom facility will better serve the community, as Gilchrist Park is one of the most frequented parks in the City.

Modern prefabricated restrooms with efficient fixtures, proper ventilation, and easy-to-clean materials will enhance hygiene, comfort, and overall satisfaction for park visitors.

The upgraded restroom facility will align with the other park improvements that have taken place since 2022.

RECOMMENDATION:

That the City Commission authorize the City Manager to execute a purchase order with Public Restroom Company via Contract No. 26-034PK-PB for one replacement restroom at Gilchrist Park for $279,887.00.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funds are available in CIP # PK051- Parks and Facilities Restroom Replacement
