SUBJECT: Interlocal Agreement between Hillsborough County and City of
Plant City for Traffic Control Signal Maintenance
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The City of Plant City and Hillsborough County wish to renew their interlocal agreement identifying the nine signalized intersections under shared County ownership. Under the terms of the agreement, Hillsborough County will provide compensation to the City for the annual maintenance of the designated traffic signals. The renewed agreement will remain in effect for a two-year term, beginning October 2026 and continuing through September 2028. The traffic signals to be maintained under this agreement are listed below.

Alsobrook Road & Park Road
Park Road & Gordon Food Services Road
Park Road & Jim Johnson Road
Turkey Creek Road & Sydney Road
Turkey Creek Road & Airport Road
Park Road & Sam Allen Road
*Park Road & Alabama Street*
*Park Road & MLK Blvd*
*The City will be compensated for the traffic signal upon substantial completion.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Commission execute the Interlocal Agreement between Hillsborough County and City of Plant City for Traffic Control Signal Maintenance.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The City’s Street Fund will receive revenue of up to $37,764 for FY27 and $38,897 for FY28.
