AGENDA REPORT
DATE: July 13, 2026
TO: City Commission
FROM: Bill McDaniel, City Manager
SUBJECT: Approve a Resolution to allow the City Manager to execute a
work order with Precision Contracting Service, Inc to repair,
install, and certifiy network cabling at 201 W Reynolds St.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The City recently acquired the former SunTrust Bank building located at 201 W Reynolds Street, which will serve as the future location of the Finance, Utility Billing, and Procurement Departments. In preparation for occupancy, the building’s existing network infrastructure must be repaired and expanded to support City operations.
During the previous tenant’s move-out process, the existing network cabling within the facility was cut and rendered unusable. As a result, the current cabling must be traced, terminated, tested, and certified to restore connectivity to the City’s network infrastructure. Reliable network connectivity is essential for daily operations, including access to financial systems, utility billing applications, communication services, and other critical business functions.
The proposed scope of work includes the termination and certification of approximately 50 existing network cable runs, along with the installation of approximately 82 additional cable runs to support new office locations and security camera systems throughout the facility.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Commission authorize the City Manager to execute Work Order 25-060TR-FB-PB-02 with Precision Contracting Services, Inc. (PCS) for the repair, certification, and installation of network cabling infrastructure at 201 W Reynolds Street in an amount not to exceed $60,000.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The project will piggyback on the Palm Beach County Master Contract with Precision Contracting Services, Inc.
Funds are available in the FM006 - IMPLMT312 Fund.
