AGENDA REPORT
DATE: September 14, 2026
TO: City Commission
FROM: Bill McDaniel, City Manager
SUBJECT: Resolution approving an extension of time to be heard by the City Commission for PC/CPA 25-05.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The applicant for PC/CPA 25-05 is requesting an extension of time for their application to be heard by the City Commission.
In September 2024, the City’s Rules and Procedures regarding Comprehensive Plan Amendments was changed to require applications to be heard by the City Commission within 180 days of their appearance before the Planning Commission or they would have to go back to the Planning Commission for a second review. PC/CPA 25-05 was heard by the Planning Commission in September of 2025, exceeded the 180-day requirement, and was granted an extension for an additional 180 days on March 9, 2026. The applicant has been working diligently with staff, but an additional extension of time would be necessary in order for staff to be able to review the Planned Development Rezoning alongside the Land Use Change. The request is scheduled to be heard by the Planning Board in September. Staff recommends extending the application to December 1, 2026 to allow enough time to process the rezoning alongside the plan amendment.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Commission adopt a resolution approving the extension of time request to December 1, 2026 for PC/CPA 25-05.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No Impact
