SUBJECT:                     Water Treatment Plant No. 5 Contract Change Order No. 1
with Dewberry/Hydro

                                                               

                                                                      

   

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

                                          

Construction of Water Treatment Plant No. 5 required additional modifications necessary to complete the project and obtain clearance in accordance with Health Department requirements. As the construction phase encountered challenges, the Engineer of Record (EOR) was required to provide additional coordination meetings and support related to well clearance, the SCADA communication system, and the instrumentation and controls subcontractor. The additional services also included development of a plant-specific Operations and Maintenance (O&M) document and additional performance testing associated with the plant controls not included in the original scope.

 

RECOMMENDATION:

 

That the City Commission authorize the City Manager to execute Change Order 1 with Dewberry/Hydro Solutions for the additional professional services needed to complete Water Treatment Plant 5 in the amount of $59,900. The resulting revised Contract Price is $1,439,059.42
