                                          AGENDA REPORT

DATE:                                          January 13, 2025

TO:                                          City Commission

FROM:                                          Bill McDaniel, City Manager

SUBJECT:                     Bruton Memorial Library Renovation and Expansion

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

On March 25, 2024, the City Commission authorized Architectural Work Order 22-011-01A-02 with ASD/SKY to produce a renovation and expansion master plan for the Library. Staff received the completed deliverables from ASD/SKY in August 2024 and is prepared to move forward.

The next step in the process is to secure a vendor to provide design development, and production of construction documents. Due to the projected dollar amount of construction, Florida’s Consultants Competitive Negotiation Act requires these services to be competitively awarded. Staff is prepared to expeditiously publish a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to secure a vendor to provide these services.

Once the RFQ process is complete, next steps will include contractor selection, permitting, and construction.

RECOMMENDATION:

That the City Commission adopt a resolution authorizing staff to proceed with the Request for Qualification process as the next step in the Bruton Memorial Library Renovation and Expansion project.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Expenses will be recorded in CIP # LB001 - Library Renovation/Expansion. Once project costs are established, a budget adjustment will be presented for approval.
