SUBJECT:                     Transmittal public hearing for map amendment PC/CPA 22-10 located at the Northwest corner of Charlie Taylor Road and Swindell Road.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The applicant is requesting a future land use designation of Plant City Industrial for a 147.5 ± acre site located at the Northwest corner of Charlie Taylor Road and Swindell Road. The site is within the boundary of the Northeast Plant City Master Plan and consists of properties designated Hillsborough County Residential-1, reflecting the rural residential character of this part of unincorporated Hillsborough County.

On September 12, 2022, the Hillsborough County City-County Planning Commission (4-3) found this map amendment inconsistent with the Plant City Comprehensive Plan and on November 20, 2024, the Plant City Planning Board (4-1) found the map amendment consistent with the Plant City Comprehensive Plan.  Attached for your consideration is a staff report from the Planning Commission analyzing and finding map amendment PC/CPA 22-10 inconsistent with the Imagine 2040: Plant City Comprehensive Plan.

RECOMMENDATION
